William Tuite
No record of apprenticeship or freedom, and no know connection with John Tuite. Mark entered as largeworker, undated, between December 1755 and March 1758. Address: King Street, Golden Square. Heal records him here as goldsmith, 1756; and 41 Great Queen Street, Lincoln's Inn Fields, 1761-75, where he appears as plateworker in the Parl. Report list 1773. William Tuite of the parish of St. Giles in the Fields, bachelor, and Catherine Reddan of St. Paul's, Covent Garden, spinster married at the latter church by licence, 24 March 1761. Tuite was bankrupt February 1770 (The Gentleman's Magazine, p.96). At 41 Great Queen Street in 1774, Heal also records William TUffley, previously at Cannon Street from 1742 to bankruptcy in 1756. He was apprenticed in 1726 and elected to Livery in 1750, but no mark is recorded. Whether he succeeded Tuite is not established.
